Dear Colleagues,

The following message has been received from Heiner Massmann from 
GFZ. The ERS-1 satellite failed late last week and SLR tracking 
attempts should cease. 

We congratulate the ERS-1 program. We are pleased that we could help  
to make this a very successful program.
