This SLRMail clarifies the acronym to be used in future for the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) Space Geodesy Facility (SGF), UK. With immediate effect we will use ´NSGF´ in all correspondence, ILRS products´ directories at CDDIS and EDC, etc. The change of name to the NERC Space Geodesy Facility was announced in SLRMail number 0579 during the year 2000, but we did not at that time assign an acronym, becoming known within the community simply as ´NERC´. However, the NERC itself is the primary UK Government funding body for a wide range of environmental research at universities and centres across the UK. Thus ´NSGF´ better describes our status as one of a number of scientific facilities that are funded through the Science and Innovations division of NERC.
