Husson, AlliedSignal Technical Services Corporation Subject: Notes about today´s CDDIS normal point files Dear SLR data users, Today´s CDDIS quick-look normal point files (October 9th, 1996), contain some older SLR data that was not captured in previous releases. In the past few months there have been some problems with the daily transfer of EUROLAS data to the CDDIS via ftp. Sometimes these daily EUROLAS files are transmitted several or more times until the data is completely transferred to the CDDIS, creating multi-verisons of the same file. The time elasped in these problem cases can be a few hours or even several days. Below are the list of EUROLAS files that have been captured in today´s files. QL_ALLSAT_960614.;3 16-JUN-1996 09:12:28.00 QL_ALLSAT_960726.;3 27-JUL-1996 09:15:58.00 QL_ALLSAT_960730.;8 1-AUG-1996 03:36:42.00 QL_ALLSAT_960731.;4 1-AUG-1996 19:38:30.00 QL_ALLSAT_960802.;4 3-AUG-1996 13:06:48.00 QL_ALLSAT_960819.;3 20-AUG-1996 20:18:49.00 QL_ALLSAT_960830.;2 1-SEP-1996 06:28:35.00 QL_ALLSAT_960906.;2 11-SEP-1996 02:03:01.00 Tomorrow´s file (October 10, 1996) will contain the additional following EUROLAS data: QL_ALLSAT_960529.;1 The above file was transmitted in binary mode versus ASCII. We are in the process of modifing our procedures to avoid this problem from happening in the future. The CDDIS will be updating any monthly QL files affected by this problem. (i.e. May 1996, June 1996, July 1996, August 1996) We regret this and are sorry for any inconvience this may have caused. Best regards, Van [Mailed From: ”Van S.
