Subject: [SLR-Mail] No. 396: Hollas (7210) Time Bias Problems From: Van S. Husson/NASA SLR ******************************************************************************** SLR Electronic Mail 1999-08-06 00:03:00 UTC Message No. 396 ******************************************************************************** Author: Van S. Husson/NASA SLR Subject: Hollas (7210) Time Bias Problems The SLR system (7210, HOLLAS) on Haleakala, Hawaii has been experiencing cesium problems which has impacted the quality of their data since early June 1999. The drift rate of the cesium has been uncontrollable and has induced varying levels of time biases from 0.5 to more than 20 microseconds. However, the good news is the time biases during this period are recoverable to better than 0.2 microseconds. The station is being sent a new station clock that will remedy this problem. Once the new clock is installed and verified, we will provide algorithms to recover all their data since 2 June 1999. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused.
