Subject: [SLR-Mail] No. 414: CDDISA Status From: Van S. Husson, ILRS Central Bureau ******************************************************************************** SLR Electronic Mail 1999-08-25 07:50:00 UTC Message No. 414 ******************************************************************************** Author: Van S. Husson, ILRS Central Bureau Subject: CDDISA Status As you may be aware, the CDDIS has been down since Friday. One of the main disks (including the anonymous ftp server, and CDDIS and ILRS web server) on CDDISA went down after a power failure. Systems people are in the process of finding a new one. Once installed, the new disk will have to be restored from backup-up. We anticipate that this will take at least another day. In the meantime the ILRS Web Site is mirrored and available at Communications Research Laboratory and is current (i.e., 20 August 1999). This URL is http://galileo.crl.go.jp/ilrs/ilrs_home.html . Also, the ILRS NP data from 18 August 1999 to 24 August 1999 (all satellites with filename all_qlYYMMDD.all) and the NASA only NP data (filenames nasa_qlYYMMDD.dat) will soon be available from the Center for Space Research ftp server. The NP data will be accessed either via the Web from ftp://ftp.csr.utexas.edu/pub/slr/slrql/ or via anonymous ftp from Node: ftp.csr.utexas.edu and Directory: /pub/slr/slrql. The file protections are being changed to permit global access. Hopefully this will be resolved shortly (i.e., within the next 24 hours) and any questions regarding accessing the data from CSR can be directed to Rick Pastor at CSR (pastor@csr.utexas.edu). The global NP dataset will be made available each day at these CSR addresses above until the CDDISA returns to normal operations. Satellite predictions are also available at the EDC or NERC. The predictions can be accessed either via the Web from (EDC) ftp://ftp.dgfi.badw-muenchen.de/pub/laser/predictions/ or via anonymous ftp from Node: ftp.dgfi.badw-muenchen.de and Directory: /pub/laser/predictions . The predictions can be also be accessed either via the Web from (NERC) ftp://mtfiles.nerc-monkswood.ac.uk/nercslr/current/ or via anonymous ftp >From Node: mtfiles.nerc-monkswood.ac.uk and Directory: /nercslr/current CDDIS apologizes for any inconvenience. Many thanks to Rick Pastor, CSR, and CRL for accommodating us during this problem period.
