Subject: [SLR-Mail] No. 699: Official CHAMP COSPAR number From: Mike Pearlman, Secretary, ILRS Central Bureau > ******************************************************************************** SLR Electronic Mail 2000-11-28 22:20:00 UTC Message No. 699 ******************************************************************************** Author: Mike Pearlman, Secretary, ILRS Central Bureau Subject: Official CHAMP COSPAR number Dear Colleague: As was stated in SLRMail No. 0695 by Drs. Rolf Koenig and Chris Reigber, the official COSPAR number for the CHAMP satellite is 0003902. The ILRS Central Bureau now requests that all Stations and Prediction Centers replace the temporary number of 0009901 with this official number, 0003902, before December 5, 2000. All data received on or after December 5th that contains either the temporary or other erroneous COSPAR identification will not be delivered and the station will be notified to repair and resend the data. Also, all data that have been collected with the temporary COSPAR number prior to December 5, 2000 will be corrected by HTSI and resupplied to the Data Centers, CDDIS and EDC. It should be noted that until shortly after the December 5th deadline, there may be CHAMP data at the Data Centers with two different COSPAR numbers. Please be aware that this may affect software scripts that automatically download this data. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. Best regards, Dr. Michael R.
