Subject: [SLR-Mail] No. 900: ILRS Tracking of GLONASS Satellites -- Revision From: Julie Horvath/HTSI, Carey Noll/CDDIS > ******************************************************************************** SLR Electronic Mail 2002-02-20 01:22:00 UTC Message No. 900 ******************************************************************************** Author: Julie Horvath/HTSI, Carey Noll/CDDIS Subject: ILRS Tracking of GLONASS Satellites -- Revision Dear Colleagues, The International GLONASS Service Pilot Project (IGLOS-PP) and our Russian colleagues have requested a change in the ILRS GLONASS satellite tracking schedule. Instead of supporting the new satellite, GLONASS-88, that was requested a few weeks ago, the IGLOS has requested that the ILRS community begin to track the satellite, GLONASS-87. This satellite was decided upon due to its new retroreflector array design. GLONASS-88 was eliminated due to the array uncertainties. Here is important information about the newest GLONASS that was launched in December 2001: Name: GLONASS-87 GLONASS #: 789 COSMOS #: 2381 COSPAR #: 0105302 SIC #: 9087 NORAD #: 26988 SLOT #: 3 PLANE #: 1 In addition, IGLOS has also requested that the satellite, GLONASS-80, be eliminated from the ILRS tracking schedule due to its unhealthy status. They have decided that its replacement should be another new GLONASS satellite launched in December 2001, GLONASS-86. Important satellite information: Name: GLONASS-86 GLONASS #: 790 COSMOS #: 2380 COSPAR #: 0105303 SIC #: 9086 NORAD #: 26989 SLOT #: 6 PLANE #: 1 Therefore, the current ILRS schedule should incorporate these three GLONASS satellites: GLONASS-84 GLONASS-86 GLONASS-87 We appreciate your patience with these frequent changes, and wish successful tracking of these new satellites. Acquisition data will be available as soon as possible.
