Subject: [SLR-Mail] No. 1006: Detailed Description of Full-Rate Data Delivery (corrected) From: Wolfgang Seemueller, Carey Noll, Werner Gurtner > ******************************************************************************** SLR Electronic Mail 2002-12-11 15:56:00 UTC Message No. 1006 ******************************************************************************** Author: Wolfgang Seemueller, Carey Noll, Werner Gurtner Subject: Detailed Description of Full-Rate Data Delivery (corrected) Dear colleagues, in SLRMAIL 1004 we forgot to add the satellite names for GPS-35 and GPS-36. Below you find the corrected satellite list. At the ILRS meetings in Nice during the EGS General Assembly in Spring 2002 it was decided to archive the full-rate data again. This was announced at the ILRS 13th International Laser Ranging Workshop in Washington, October 07-11, 2002. Herewith the details of full-rate data delivery and file naming convention are given: 1. Full-rate data delivery Each ILRS SLR station sends a daily file for each satellite to the corresponding Global Data Centers (EDC or HTSI/CDDIS), containing all passes starting the same day. The full-rate data should be sent via ftp to the following incoming directories at HTSI/CDDIS and EDC respectively: HTSI: [fg_normpts.fullrate] (same path as for normal points, but other directory) EDC : incoming/laser/frdata/ The Global ILRS Data Centers will generate monthly files of the daily files. The daily and monthly full-rate data files will be available at CDDIS and EDC respectively: CDDIS: /slr/slrfr/sname/yyyy/ (monthly files) /slr/slrfr/sname/yyyy/daily (daily files) EDC : pub/laser/frdata/daily/ (daily files pub/laser/frdata/monthly/ (monthly files) 2. File name convention ´statno´_´yy´´mm´´dd´_´r´.´satnam´´.Z´ with ´statno´ : CDP station number ´yy´ : two-digit year ´mm´ : month ´dd´ : day ´r´ : relase flag (´a´ = first release, ´b´ = second release, etc.) ´satnam´ : satellite name from the list below The file has to be UNIX-compressed (extension ´.Z´). For DOS executables of the UNIX compression see e.g.: ftp://igscb.jpl.nasa.gov/igscb/software/compress/dos The approved satellite names are (lowercase, no dashes or other special characters): ajisai adeos2 beaconc champ ers2 envisat etalon1 etalon2 gfo1 glonass84 glonass86 glonass87 gps35 gps36 gracea graceb icesat jason1 lre lageos1 lageos2 meteor3m reflector starlette starshine3 stella topex (See also http://ilrs.gsfc.nasa.gov/products_formats_procedures/fullrate/index.html): Example: Station Herstmonceux, satellite LAGEOS-1, all passes starting on Nov. 20, 2002, first release: 7840_021120_a.lageos1.Z 3. Calibration data It was decided not to archive the calibration data. If they are needed, the corresponding SLR station should be contacted.
