Subject: [SLR-Mail] No. 1200: Engineering and Q/C Analysis - 14th Int. Laser Ranging Workshop From: Ron Noomen, Vladimir Glotov > ******************************************************************************** SLR Electronic Mail 2004-04-05 08:25:00 UTC Message No. 1200 ******************************************************************************** Author: Ron Noomen, Vladimir Glotov Subject: Engineering and Q/C Analysis - 14th Int. Laser Ranging Workshop 14th International Workshop on Laser Ranging San Fernando, Spain, June 7-11, 2004 Engineering and Q/C Analysis Dear colleagues, The ILRS covers a broad spectrum of activities, ranging from mission support, tracking organization, hardware development to data analysis, model development, scientific interpretation and many others. The topic of this session addresses the direct link between the laser stations´ main activities (i.e. acquisition of extremely accurate range measurements to various satellites) on one side and the analysis and science products on the other side. Engineering and (semi real-time) Q/C analysis are essential for a good and consistent quality of the observations, and an absence of such activities would have negative effects on the quality of the analysis and science products. In this session, contributions on engineering and QC are solicited. Contributors are invited to address issues such as techniques for engineering and QC, - data quality and quantity results and experiences, - data latency, - format adherence, - biases, - (report) information flow, - procedures and model developments, - feedback to the stations (where relevant), - and such (this list is not exhaustive). Please note that these issues can be addressed by an individual station but also by dedicated, more global QC services. Both types of actors are invited to contribute to this session. The session ”Engineering and Q/C Analysis” is scheduled for Wednesday June 9, 10:30 - 12:30. Please submit your abstract before May 1st through the Workshop website at http://www.roa.es/14workshop-laser and please also send a copy to the us directly at the e-mail addresses listed below.
