Subject: [SLR-Mail] No. 1386: GFO-1 IGDR post-Katrina backlog cleared From: Frank Lemoine ******************************************************************************** SLR Electronic Mail 2005-09-25 10:21:00 UTC Message No. 1386 ******************************************************************************** Author: Frank Lemoine Subject: GFO-1 IGDR post-Katrina backlog cleared Dear Colleagues, This is to advise that thanks to the efforts of john lillibridge (NOAA), nikita zelensky & doug chinn (nasa gsfc/sgt-inc), we have cleared the post-Katrina backlog of IGDR´s for GFO-1. We have redone the MOE´s (medium precision orbits) using the recently made available altimeter data processed by NAVO and NOAA. These orbits are based on SLR tracking, Doppler data, and altimeter crossovers. The orbits are available from dirac.gsfc.nasa.gov anonymous ftp, cd pub/earth/gfo/moe/ in TOPEX/POE format. John Lillibridge has created IGDR´s with this MOE orbit information. (Contact John.Lillibridge@noaa.gov for access to these data). POE´s (precise orbits) will be redone in a few weeks once flux and EOP values stabilize. Over the last 48 hours, at our request the stations of the International Laser Ranging Service (ILRS) have made a special effort to track the altimeter satellites (TOPEX, ENVISAT and especially GFO-1). We have provided special delivery MOE orbits for GFO-1 with 48-hr trajectory predicts to assist NOAA during the track of Hurricane Rita toward Texas. We sincerely appreciate the efforts the ILRS has made on our behalf. Sincerely, Frank Lemoine Code 697, Space Geodesy Laboratory NASA Goddard Space Flight Center >Using the IGDR data John has made available, we have re-computed four MOE >orbits spanning the period 050829 - 050916, and have exported them to >NOAA and the Navy: z50829, z50903, z50908, z50913. > doppler slr xover difference (cm) xvr > from to wtd rms wtd rms wtd rms wrt previous arc tbia >arc yymmdd hhmm yymmdd hhmm pnts cm/s pnt cm pnts cm radl cross along msec >======== ==== ====== ==== ==== === ==== ===== ==== ===== ==== ===== ===== ==== > >z50828 050828 050902 15 5828 2.1 1128 4.36 79 6.26 3.34 4.94 27.54 1.3 >z50829 050829 050904 0 6632 2.0 1477 2.25 2343 6.80 2.58 7.78 13.44 0.9 >z50903 050903 050909 0 7133 2.3 1710 2.94 2337 6.38 1.66 1.99 7.95 0.9 >z50908 050908 050914 0 5828 1.8 1292 7.04 2100 7.33 3.53 8.59 9.31 0.9 >z50913 050913 050916 207 1163 3.4 784 2.75 586 6.54 3.33 10.69 7.63 0.7 >z50916 050916 208 050921 207 1780 3.7 709 4.38 421 6.53 2.20 6.95 6.64 1.0 >z50917 050917 050922 15 2008 3.7 755 4.19 596 6.45 2.44 4.58 9.68 1.0 >z50918 050918 050923 15 1524 2.4 867 4.20 1576 6.65 1.86 5.32 11.35 1.0 From: flemoine@bowie.gsfc.nasa.gov ********************************************************************************
