Subject: [SLR-Mail] No. 1799: Update of satellite IDs for Reflector From: Carey Noll/ILRS CB > ******************************************************************************** SLR Electronic Mail 2009-10-09 01:01:00 UTC Message No. 1799 ******************************************************************************** Author: Carey Noll/ILRS CB Subject: Update of satellite IDs for Reflector The ILRS has used an incorrect value for the NORAD and COSPAR IDs for the Reflector satellite, due to a NORAD object-misidentification shortly after launch. The ILRS originally decided to maintain these incorrect numbers during the tracking campaign for consistency, however for data archival and historical reference, it has been decided to correct the mistake. The correct values, which correspond to values in international databases, are: NORAD: 27005 (incorrect value was 27004) COSPAR: 0105605 (incorrect value was 0105604) The ILRS data centers updated these values in all historic SLR data on October 05, 2009. The ILRS website has also been updated with a notation about the correction now included. Any future tracking of the satellite should use these values. Thanks to Georg Kirchner for pointing out these errors.
