Subject: [SLR-Mail] No.2125: Shutdown of CDDIS due to Hurricane Sandy From: Carey Noll ******************************************************************************** SLR Electronic Mail 2012-10-30 08:11:10 UTC Message No. 2125 ******************************************************************************** Author: Carey Noll/CDDIS As many may have heard, the U.S. mid-Atlantic and New England states are under serious threat from Hurricane Sandy. Our center management has urged us to shut down computer systems in preparation for this severe weather event. GSFC was closed to non-emergency personnel today (October 29) and may be again tomorrow. The worse part of the storm should pass by our area tomorrow (October 30) morning; we hope that should GSFC conditions allow, we will be able to return to normal CDDIS operations by tomorrow afternoon. I will keep the community posted with updates as they are possible. While the CDDIS is unavailable, users can access one of the other data centers supporting the services: IGS: http://www.igs.org/organization/centers.html ILRS: http://ilrs.gsfc.nasa.gov/data_and_products/data_centers/index.html IVS: http://ivscc.gsfc.nasa.gov/about/org/components/dc-list.html IDS: http://ids-doris.org/data-products/info.html We regret the problems this outage may cause the user community.
