Subject: [SLR-Mail] No.2758: 22nd International Workshop on Laser Ranging, Yebes, Spain, 7-11 November 2022 From: Toshimichi Otsubo Author: Toshimichi Otsubo, Hitotsubashi University Dear ILRS Colleagues, While we announced the postponement of Kunming Workshop (sent on 1 June), the ILRS received a very nice offer from IGN Spain about the possibility of holding our workshop in Spain, around its Yebes Observatory. This proposal was quickly discussed with the Governing Board (GB) colleagues, and we have just reached the following conclusion about this year´s workshop. - Meeting name: 22nd International Workshop on Laser Ranging - Dates: 7-11 November 2022 - Format: Hybrid = at/near Yebes and online IGN Spain and ILRS have just begun the discussion about the details. In fact, our workshop selection guideline https://ilrs.gsfc.nasa.gov/about/reports/workshop/ILRS_Workshop_Guidelines.html says a host of International Workshop on Laser Ranging should be decided at the previous workshop, but the GB would like to apply this name, considering the unusual circumstances and also our workshop plans for 2023 (Technical Workshop, in Peru) and 2024 (International Workshop on Laser Ranging, in China) . As for the dates, we have chosen the week of 7-11 Nov rather than the week of Kunming workshop 31 Oct - 4 Nov, to minimise conflicts with other events such as the IDS Workshop (31 Oct - 2 Nov). After almost 3 years of the virtual-meeting-only period, it will be wonderful to see each other in person in Spain. Or, if you cannot travel, see you online. In either way, we look forward to seeing you this November! We would like to express our appreciation to the Spanish colleagues. More details will be given soon. Best Regards, Toshi
