Subject: [SLR-Mail] No.2901: Eurolas status server IP/hostname - Changes From: pierre.lauber@unibe.ch Dear colleagues, I received several feedback of my last email last year (see below). Not all stations replied. >From the feedback, I know that the stations should be able to change the IP/hostname more or less easily. The port 7810 remains the same. The IP/hostname changes from old IP/hostname 130.92.25.136 aiuli3.unibe.ch to new IP/hostname 130.92.25.184 zwdpc41.aiub.unibe.ch E.g. simply check with Linux command: netcat zwdpc41.aiub.unibe.ch 7810 For a transition time, the old access is still possible. But, please do not wait too long. Thank you very much for your co-operation. In case instead of replying to the mailing list, please reply-to my email below. Dear colleagues, as far as I know, the Eurolas status was introduced by Werner Gurtner about 30 years ago. At that time, the international internet was small and security requirements less compared to today. Our university had to move the Eurolas server behind a firewall. On top of the latter, a change of the Eurolas server IP/hostname and port is highly recommended for our IT as well. The Eurolas status is used on an international basis. If we would change the IP/hostname and port of the Eurolas server: Would you be able to change it in your systems without big efforts? Please let us know. Thank you very much in advance.
