Content: | ******************************************************************************** SLR Electronic Mail 1996-01-29 17:00:00 UTC Message No. 10 ******************************************************************************** Author: Daniel Nugent Subject: Internet Virus Notification The "Good Times" virus notification message was first seen making the rounds in April 1995. The text of the most recent virus notification message (reference SLR Electronic Mail - Message No. 0009) is identical to the text of the April 1995 message. In April 1995, the NASA Automated Systems Incident Response Center (NASIRC) declared the "Good Times" virus notification to be a hoax; i.e., the "Good Times" virus did not exist. Should you have a concern, agencies such as NASIRC and FIRST (Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams) can verify the existence/non-existence of a virus. NASIRC has an Internet homepage at http://nasirc.nasa.gov/ or may be contacted via e-mail at nasirc@nasirc.hq.nasa.gov or via telephone at U.S. 800-762-7472. FIRST has an Internet home page at http://csrc.ncsl.nist.gov/first/ or may be contacted via e-mail at first-sec@first.org.
