| Content: | ******************************************************************************** SLR Electronic Mail 2003-01-18 10:20:00 UTC Message No. 1040 ******************************************************************************** Author: Carey Noll/ILRS Subject: ADEOS-II Tracking support Takashi Uchimura and Maki Maeda of NASDA have informed the ILRS that SLR tracking of ADEOS-II must cease as of January 18, 2003 at 00:00:00. Shortly after that time, the GLI instrument will begin routine operation. As was reported at the ILRS General Assembly in Nice 2002, the GLI optical sensor may be damaged by SLR tracking. It is very important that no SLR tracking is done after January 18. NASDA has expressed its gratitude for the prompt and extensive support of the initial phases of the mission by the ILRS network and looks forward to future cooperation with the ILRS.
