Subject: 7357 Beijing SLR Station for Argentina

Dear colleagues,

There is a new Chinese system (7357) in Beijing that is currently in
collocation with the original Beijing SLR system (7249).
After collocation testing, this new system is to be shipped in 2004
to San Quan, Argentina, an excellent weather location of 300 clear
days a year.

So far the system has provided 32 passes, a mixture of LEO and LAGEOS
data with approximately half the data being LAGEOS.

Their site log is available at:
ftp://cddisa.gsfc.nasa.gov/pub/reports/slrlog/beia_20030508.log

Here are some key points based on their site log
that the analysts need to know:

point of contact: Wang Tanqiang
Email: wangtq@263.net

SOD: 73578801
DOMES : 21601S005

Approximate coordinates (roughly the same as SLR 7249):

Note: It appears their site log inverted the values
for the Lat and Long. The ILRS CB would be interested in
receiving a ITRF2000 coordinate solution based on the
its LAGEOS data so we could forward this to the other
analysts.

X coordinate [m]: -2148760.000
Y coordinate [m]: 4426760.000
Z coordinate [m]: 4044510.000
Latitude [deg]: 39.6077 N
Longitude [deg]: 115.8927 E
Elevation [m]: 71.966

the Eccentricities for 73578801 are all ´ZERO´

Wavelength [nm]: 532.0

LAGEOS single shot RMS [mm]: 15

The site tie provided appears to be incorrect and
perhaps was cut and pasted from the 7249 Beijing site log.
We are trying to get this issue resolved and get the log updated
with the proper information.
