Koenig, GeoForschungsZentrum Potsdam (GFZ) Subject: Outage of CHAMP/GRACE Predictions Dear colleagues, as of November 15th, 2003 until November 17th, 2003 an interruption of the GFZ CHAMP and GRACE predictions occured. The reason was the reception of corrupted data files for the predictions of solar and geomagnetic activity from an external institution corrupting our data base. Due to the missing information no updating of orbit predictions for the CHAMP and GRACE satellites was possible. As of today November 17th, 2003 our data bases are resurrected and updated and the prediction cycles returned to automatic operations, again. In order to prevent any interruption of this type some more robust software will be applied in future. We apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused. Best regards, R. Schmidt, R.
