SECOND CIRCULAR for the ”14th International Workshop on Laser Ranging”
and the ”10th General Assembly of the International Laser Ranging Service”.


The ”Real Instituto y Observatorio de la Armada en San Fernando” (Royal
Naval Institute and Observatory at San Fernando, ROA) and the International
Laser Ranging Service (ILRS) are pleased to announce that the Fourteenth
International Workshop on Laser Ranging will be held in San Fernando (Cadiz,
Spain) during the week of June 07-11, 2004 at the ”Bahia Sur” Hotel.

Also scheduled during this week will be the Tenth General Assembly of the
ILRS and meetings of the ILRS Governing Board and Working Groups. A trip to
the ROA will be arranged to allow attendees to visit the Observatory,
including the SLR station and possibly the FTLRS system to be co-located at the
station during the workshop.

Daily excursions for accompanying persons, a post-conference excursion to
Granada and Seville, a Shuttle Service, and a Car rental service are also
being organized. Excursion feasibility will depend on the number of
participants.

Important Dates:

· Abstract and Applications for Support: April 1, 2004
· Post-conference and daily excursions pre-registration: April 1, 2004
· Pre-registration and Hotel Reservation: May 1, 2004

Please notice: San Fernando (Cadiz) is a high tourist area, so acceptance of
reservations for ”Bahia Sur” hotel after May 1, 2004 will depend upon
availability of rooms. Late or on-site registration may result in your not
being able to stay at the meeting place with the consequence of considerable
inconvenience.
Visitors from outside the European Union (EU) should check whether or not a
visa is required. In most cases a valid passport is sufficient. Moreover,
visitors from Central and Eastern Europe should check whether or not special
health insurance is required for a visa. All insurance and visa costs must
be borne by the participant.
Participants who require an official invitation to obtain a visa, to raise
travel funds or for other administrative purposes will find the guidelines
for the invitation at the workshop web page.
