Subject: New CODE QL Residual Report

Dear colleagues,

we were reviewing our procedures generating the Quick-Look
SLR Residual Report. This review was triggered mainly by the
availability of precise GLONASS orbits and of two color
tracking data.

With our new procedure the reports will have a slightly
modified format in order to accommodate the additional
information:

- GLONASS tracking data is included into the QL Residual
Report. SLR residuals are based on the CODE GLONASS orbits.
SLR validation over 140 of the final orbits show an RMS
of 5 cm.

- As SLR reflector offsets we use
GPS: X: 0.8626 Y: -0.5245 Z: 0.6584 m
GLONASS: 0.0000 0.0000 1.5416 m

- All stations providing SLR tracking data via CDDIS are
included.

- Station names are no longer identified with a 4-character
ID but with DOMES numbers.

- The format concerning satellite numbering was slightly
changed. GPS and GLONASS satellites are identified by the
system identifiers ´G´ and ´R´, respectively.

- The residuals are referred to ITRF2000 with the exception
of the following stations where values from related slrmails
are used:
7110 40497M001 slrmail.1103
7355 21612M002 slrmail.1126
7832 20101S001 slrmail.1111 (ASI solution)
7357 21601S005 slrmail.1118

- SLR data from both colors are analyzed and reported for
two-frequency tracking systems.

- For the old QL Residuals Reports the satellite ephemerides
were computed with an epoch precision of 1e-6 seconds (5 mm
in satellite position). With the new procedure the precision
is 1e-9 seconds.

We just sent the last old-style protocol for doy 097/2004 a few
minutes ago and send now the corresponding new-style protocol.
Starting with tomorrow´s automatic submission you will get the
new, extended protocol. Please report if you find any problem.

Best regards
