Dear colleagues,

As you probably know it, we installed some days ago in San Fernando/Spain
(collaboration with J.Davila and J. Garate/Real Instituto y Observatorio de la
Armada) our mobile ”FTLRS” sytem for a one month campaign to achieve a
colocation experiment with the permanent SLR station in San Fernando.

With the collaboration of our spanish colleagues which really made us very
welcome in their observatory, the setup of the station was achieved quickly in 3
days and we got the firts pass evening on june 7th, the first day of the14th
International laser ranging Workshop.
On tuesday 8th, during a nice trip and reception in the Observatory, all the
participants had the opportunity to visit and attend satellites tracking with
the two stations in colocation at some hundred meters, and it has been really a
great pleasure for us to welcome you at Ftlrs.

The site log for this new laser site was sent today and, thanks Carey Noll, is
available on line on the ILRS Web site with last updates.
All the data (80 passes today including 7 lageos) has been sent from the
beginning and we´ll continue to do it now quickly with a calibration measured
hopefully at some millimeter level or better.

The link for the site information at Ilrs is the following :
http://ilrs.gsfc.nasa.gov/stations/sitelist/select.cgi?order=by_site_name&site_code=SFEF&site_name=San%20Fernando&pad_id=7823&tab_id=general

Don´t hesitate to contact us for any question, comments and scientific
projects and application of interest for the futur with this system....

Thanks for your cooperation, especially our scientific
Spanish colleagues and ROA authorities, best regards

Francis Pierron
