Subject: Start operation of JAXA SLR (GMSL:7358,Tanegashima, Japan)

Dear Colleagues,

A new ILRS station ”Tanegashima (GMSL)”started transmission of data to
CDDIS from 1st. September.
GMSL (7358), located at Tanegashima Island, Japan, is operated by JAXA.
We are operating GMSL as a preliminary operation to improve remote
control operation skill before full daily operations.
The station will be operated by remote control from Tsukuba Space Center.
We will publish normal point data for all tracked satellites from now on.

In addition, we have a GPS station (GMSD) near GMSL, which is registered
to IGS.
You can find plenty of information about GMSD on the web page
http://god.tksc.jaxa.jp/gpssystem/index.html
This information would be useful comparison with SLR. We have already
started uploading data to CDDIS on an daily basis.

Please feel free to ask me if you have any question.

Best regards,

Takashi
