Kokurin, KATZIVELY Subject: Message from ”Katzively” Station No. 1893 DEAR COLLEAGUES IN JUNE 1998 YEAR SLR STATION ”KATZIVELY” N. 1893 HAS BEGUN OBSERVATIONS OF THE SATELLITES WITH THE TIME PROPAGATION COUNTER SR-620 INSTEAD EVENT TIMER ”PIKAP-2M”. THE COMPARISON OF THESE TWO DEVICES SHOWED A SYSTEMATIC DIFFERENCE 1.2-1.4 NS BETWEEN THE CALIBRATION AND THE TIME PROPAGATION MEASUREMENT. ELECTRONIC COMMUTATOR ”CALIBRATION-MEASUREMENT” WAS A SOURCE OF THIS ERROR. WE EXPECT THAT NOW THE MODELLED BIAS FOR OUR STATION WILL BE REDUCED IN RESPECT TO PREVIOUS VALUE FOR 0.6-0.7 NS. UNFORTUNATELY THIS ERROR COULD NOT BE FOUND BEFORE THE SR-620 WAS INTRODUCED INTO OPERATION. BEST REGARDS. JU.
