Subject: My leaving from JAXA SLR program

Dear ILRS colleagues,

I would like to let you know that I must be transferred to another department as of October 1 and be away from SLR-related work.

When I look back over the years since I attend the ILRS meeting for the first time in November 2000 at Matera, Italy, we have asked
for your assistance and cooperation for JAXA satellites including LRE satellite, ADEOS-II and ALOS.
Thought these satellites were or are not easy to support, LRE was difficult to range and ADEOS-II and ALOS requires
restriction-sensitive operations, we have received tremendous support in preparation and operation.
On a personal level, I have met a lot of interesting people and learnt enormous amounts from working with them since I entered the
SLR community.
They have had a positive effect on me.
I appreciate the support and encouragement you have given me over the past five years.

JAXA completed its first SLR station and has operated the system though not 100%.
I thought I would master the system and start full-scale operation as soon as possible including ranging of ILRS-supporting
satellites, the resumption of LRE ranging operation and provision of TIRV, ranging of geostationary satellites, and
analysis of SLR data.
But unfortunately I cannot continue to be involved in these challenging works.

I will hand over the baton to my successors.

Shinichi NAKAMURA ( nakamura.shinichi@jaxa.jp )
Nobuo KUDOH ( kudoh.nobuo@jaxa.jp )

I beg your continued support for them and ALOS satellite.
I wish you all the best for the future.

Thousand thanks from the bottom of my heart. Hopefully I can come back someday.

Takashi
