Subject: New DORIS station co-located at Monument Peak

Dear Colleagues,

A new DORIS station has been installed in the premises of the NASA
MOBLAS-4 Satellite Laser Ranging tracking station ”Monument Peak”,
located at Mount Laguna, California, USA. The DORIS equipment
consists of a third generation beacon and a Starec antenna. The
antenna is supported by a 1.5 meter high, 46 cm diameter concrete
pillar, extending 3 m deep into the ground.

The name of the station is ”Monument Peak” and its acronym in the
DORIS data files is MONB.

Transmissions started on November 30, 2005, in the central frequencies mode.

The DOMES number for the antenna reference point is 40497S008.

The following ITRF2000 @ 1997.0 coordinates for the DORIS antenna
reference point, were derived from the geodetic connection to the
”MONP” IGS station:

X= -2386250.856 m Y= -4802363.697 m Z= 3444894.416 m
SigX = 0.002 m SigY = 0.003 m SigZ = 0.003 m

The ITRF2000 velocities for this site are :

VX = -0.0306 m/y VY = 0.0255 m/y VZ = 0.0145 m/y
SigVX = 0.0002 m/y SigVY = 0.0003 m/y SigVZ = 0.0003 m/y

This new station replaces the Goldstone (GOMB) DORIS station.

Best regards,

Herve Fagard
