Subject: ILRS Workshop 2006, Session on Science Products

Dear colleagues,

as you may have seen on the homepage of the ILRS Workshop 2006 we are convening the session on ”Science products” at the ILRS workshop in Canberra on Monday, October 16, 2006.
The topics of the session include

- the maintenance of the long-term stability of the low-degree and -order geopotential (including the geocenter),
- contributions to the terrestrial reference frame (where heights are of particular interest)

- contributions to the determination of the Earth rotation parameters,

- modelling of non-gravitational forces for Laser satellites,

- calibration of satellite orbits determined using the GNSS techniques (SLR/LLR is the only space-geodetic techniques working in the optical part of the spectrum),

- combination of SLR/LLR results with those of other space-geodetic techniques,

- the well-known products from LLR (test of gravitational theories, lunar rotation, development of the Earth-Moon-Sun three-body problem)

We foster contributions to this broad range of topics and to possible future development based on the laser technology (like, e.g., the use of the transponder technology for measuring distances to the Moon, to space missions to the Moon and planets, and to other planets).

Please send your abstracts by e-mail to Steve Klosko (sklosko@sgt-inc.com) with copy to Jennifer Mullaney (jmullaney@eos-aus.com) no later than September 30, 2006.

Looking forward to a stimulating session we remain with kind regards

Yours sincerely

Steve Klosko
