Subject: Current Jason-1 SHM Recovery Status

JASON-1 SHM STATUS, Wednesday, Nov. 15 th, 18:00 UTC

SHM investigation status:

The analysis of the Jason-1 Housekeeping Telemetry before and just
after the SHM confirms that the only problem encountered by the
spacecraft is a double EDAC error in the onboard software RAM due
to a very aggressive environment at this moment (fly by of the
South Anomaly Atlantic). Numerous EDAC errors were also detected
by the scrubbing task of the Mass Memory.

SHM recovery operation plan:

Today, after a successful remapping of the Mass Memory modules,
SHM recovery operations have been able to start. The corresponding
main steps are the following:

1. DORIS set in operation (performed on November, 15th, 12:57 UTC)

2. Switch on and check of each PROTEUS equipment:
a. Gyros: performed, status OK
b. Star Trackers: performed, status OK
c. reaction wheel No.3: to be performed during the night
of 15 to 16 Nov.

3. Star aquisition mode transition: to be performed during the
night of 15 to 16 Nov.

4. GPS set in operation: to be performed during the night of
15 to 16 Nov.

5. Earth pointing mode transition: to be performed on the 16th

6. Nominal operational mode transition: to be performed on the 16th

7. POSEIDON set operational: to be performed during the night of
16 to 17th Nov.

8. JMR set operational: to be performed on the 17th

9. Return to mission routine activities with JPL: to be performed
on the 17th evening

10. TRSR set operational: to be performed on the 20th by JPL

Next status: Thursday, 16th, 19h UTC
