Subject: ANDE-RR Status

The ANDE-RR payloads MAA and FCAL were deployed from STS-116 from
Discovery 21-Dec-2006 at approximately 18:22 Z. The FCAL (ILRS ANDERR-P)
was nominally deployed as part of the five part assembly. Initial
estimates from STS crew video indicate the MAA (ILRS ANDERR-A) did not
freely depart from it´s cylinder.

Ground sites have been in contact with both the FCal and the MAA
spacecraft. Over the next week we expect the number of telemetry
packets
received to increase. Both payloads have sun sensing devices designed to
help monitor spin rates. FCal telemetry indicates it has seen sunlit
periods with 3 of 6 sensors showing increased current. We expect to get
more statistics from the MAA spacecraft over the next week which should
help determine if the MAA was released from the ICU and is seeing
sunlight.

Now that Discovery has safely landed, the mission flight rules will
permit
lasing attempts, however at this time the confirmation of the COSPAR
identification has not been conveyed. For the safety of the other
deployed
payloads, as soon as they have been assigned and accurate CPF products
produced they will be forwarded through nominal channels to the CDDIS
for
use by the ILRS tracking systems.

This ANDE-RR project wishes all involved happy holidays and looks
forward
to an exciting opportunity to collect high fidelity measurements in the
coming year. Thank you all for your participation.

Best Regards,
Andrew Nicholas
