Subject: Improved data analysis procedures and corrections session at Grasse Workshop

Dear colleagues,

We would like to bring to your attention the session we are organizing
during the upcoming ILRS Fall Workshop, 25-28 September 2007,
in Grasse, France:

Session 2: Improved data analysis procedures and corrections

The scope of the session is to examine the current practice of SLR data
analysis as it has evolved over the last few years and especially since
ILRS started the production and delivery of official products to the
wider user community. Since then, many advances in our understanding
of system Earth, certain characteristics of our targets, components
of the
ground systems, etc., made it possible to improve our modeling in
various
areas. In some cases, it has become almost mandatory to do so in order
to avoid introducing systematic signals in our products.

We invite you to submit presentations that examine the quality of our
current products, the improvements we can expect from the adoption of
alternative modeling and reduction schemes, the introduction of
additional background models and information on their fidelity,
quality, and consistent (reliable) availability to our community.
Please, focus your presentations to the key-points so that we
can allow more time for discussion and exchange of ideas from
the audience.

Please send a short abstract to the session chairs:

Erricos C. Pavlis
Florent Deleflie
