While the data itself is unaffected, the two-way single-shot RMS specified in columns 48-51 of the NP file headers is overestimated by a factor of approx. 4.5. Consequently, the one-way single-shot RMS in mm given for the CONL station in the Global performance Report Cards is also too high by a factor of 4.5. Since replacement of the erroneous NP data headers is unfeasable, we ask users of our data (primary wavelength 847 nm only) to divide the two way pass RMS (in picoseconds) by that factor in order to obtain a realistic approximate value. This applies to all file headers since the second quarter of 2003. Again, the NP and FR data are unaffected by this software bug. The bug was fixed for all files sent since August 23, 2007. Please contact me if you have any questions on this error. We of course regret any inconvenience this may have caused. Best regards, Bernd Sierk From: Bernd Sierk ******************************************************************************** |
