Content: | ******************************************************************************** SLR Electronic Mail 2007-09-13 19:06:00 UTC Message No. 1604 ******************************************************************************** Author: Julie Horvath and Howard Donovan, NASA SLR Engineering Subject: 7110 MONL: Monument Peak, CA: MOBLAS 4 offline due to Forest Fire Dear Colleagues, A forest fire began around 19:30 GMT yesterday, 9/12/07, several miles west-southwest of the MOBLAS 4 located on Monument Peak, California. The fire has spread towards the station and threatens to cut off the main access road to the station. As a result the MOBLAS 4 system was shut down and secured as of 12:00 GMT this morning, 9/13/07. The system will be brought back on-line only when the threat of fire and smoke are completely eliminated. We will notify the community, as soon as possible, with any future developments.
