She was only 34 years old. Her loss is a doubly sad one as she was one of the few female observers on the SLR community. After dropping out on her sophomore year at the Santa Clara University Computer Science course, She joined our satellite tracking team more than 10 years ago, first as a Photografical Observer at the AFU-75 camera and later to the SBG SLR. She did the last ruby laser observation on 1993. For the last several years She had a combined radiation and chemical therapy treatment and in between the intensive sessions She came back to work with renewed hope and energy. Few months ago, when was clear that the cancer was spreading and on the terminal stage, She was offered a fully paid sickness leave and she refused saying that the nigths She was observing were the only nigths that She forgot her troubles. In fact her last nigth shift was only two days before entering the Hospital for the last time. I am sure all of you will share our loss. Keeping on tracking will be the best memorial for Her. In the name of the Santiago de Cuba team Dr. J. del Pino Jorge del Pino E-Mail: pino@gfz-potsdam.de [Mailed From: ”W.
