Our ET data show larger scatter plus a systematic pre-pulse which is visible both in calibrations and satellite measurements. The cause is still unknown, but we could rule out optical effects. The problem first occured on March 10, 2008, but we continued to send data, as we were able to filter out false returns by data screening. However, recent analysis reports show unrealistically high range biases for some of our passes, which suggests that our screening procedures are insufficient to ensure high-quality data. We have therefore decided to cease operation until the ET is fixed or replaced. Given the usual supply delays in this part of the world we estimate a down time of 1-2 months. We deeply regret any inconvenience caused by contaminated data.
