Gurtner Subject: Zimmerwald: Data of the new laser system Dear colleagues, we have been submitting now for about one week data collected with our new 100 Hz Nd:YAG laser system. The pulse length is slightly less than 60 ps FWHM, the single shot calibration RMS and the RMS of ranges to ”good” satellite targets are currently of the order of 5 mm (30-40 ps). We are trying to keep the system in the single photon regime under all ranging conditions. Due to some possible instabilities in the oscillator we are running the laser at about 3 mJ @ 532 nm. We hope to bring it up to nominal power (about 10 mJ @ 532 nm) within the next few weeks. I am extremely interested in getting feedback from the analysis colleagues as soon as possible.
