Subject: Session on Detectors on the 16th Int.Workshop on Laser Ranging

Call for papers : Session on Lasers, Detectors and Timers
the 16th International Workshop on Laser Ranging,to be held in =
Poznan,Poland, Oct. 2008

Chair Ivan Prochazka , co-Chair Yurij Artyukh

Dear colleagues,=20

Laser, detector and timing systems are key hardware components of any =
laser ranging system. Although the construction of these components has =
settled in the last years, the appearance of new techniques on one hand =
and new experiments and applications on the other hand represent new =
challenges for the laser ranging community. The session should focus, =
but is not limited to these issues:
- new laser transmitters (new constructions, space qualified systems, =
reliability, versatility, synchronization options ..)
- advances in ranging detectors (time walk, detection efficiency, timing =
resolution, overload tolerance..)
- new timing systems for SLR (new principles, resolution, repetition =
rates, stability..)
- timing systems for new experiments (altimetry, one way ranging epoch =
timing, laser time transfer,...)
- advances in optical and mechanical-optical design in laser ranging =
systems

Looking forward to meet in Poznan

Sincerely=20

Ivan Prochazka and Yurij Artyukh
