Subject: OICETS Request for laser tracking Oct 08 -Feb09

Dear SLR specialists,

NICT and JAXA will conduct the lase communication experimets with OICETS=20
from October 1, 2008 to February 28, 2009. The aim of this campaign is=20
to test a new tracking system for optical communications and perform a=20
forward error correction experiment using LDPC code via ground-to-OICETS=20
laser communication links. The satellite laser ranging network and the=20
satellite laser communication can be unified in the future and pursue=20
the scientific and engineering objectives, which becomes their new=20
expansion to the future global satellite optical navigation and=20
communications network. Please support our experiments from the SLR=20
sperialists.=20

Please set the Normal Bin Size as 30 seconds.
The orbital altitude of OICETS is 610km and the inclination is 97.83 deg.
The CPF file will be updated at every Monday and Wednesday. =20
The optical communication experiments will be performed on Tuesday and Thur=
sday.
Because of the optical communication experiments, please do not perform=20
any laser ranging during 15:00-18:00 UTC on Tuesday and Thursday. =20

We very much appreciate for all your kind supports from all the stations. =
=20
The contact point of this experiment is:

Thank you very much for your kind support in advance. =20

Best regards,

Morio
