Subject: Deadline Extension for Submissions to the GGOS CfPs

Dear Colleagues,

in view of the fact that several institutions indicated that they will not be able to submit their proposals for the new GGOS CfP -- issued mid of July 2008 -- in time (i.e., by October 15, 2008), the GGOS Executive Committee together with the reviewers decided to extend the deadline for the submission of proposals to

November 7, 2008.

Please be aware that a further extension will not be possible, since the review committee needs time to rank the proposals before the next GGOS Steering Committee Meeting in S.F.

I would like to encourage all potential institutions to consider a participation in the new GGOS components. It is a unique chance to play a major and visible role in the frame work of GGOS and GEO and other international activities.

With best regards,
Markus Rothacher
GGOS Chair
