Subject: OICETS status and ILRS support stop request

Dear SLR specialists,

NICT and JAXA will conduct the lase communication experimets with OICETS
from April 16, 2009 to September 29, 2009 again. The aim of this campaign
is to perform the international collaborative laser communications experiments
with several international optical ground stations (OGSs) including JPL, DLR,
ESA and NICT. In this time, we want to perform the international collaborative
experiments very carefully, we request that all the SLR stations should not
send the laser beam to OICETS during this period. We have to guarantee the
experimental opportunities for the international OGSs. We want to avoid any
unwanted failures due to the interference from the SLR stations this time.
Please understand this situation, then I regret to say that we do not need
the ILRS support this time.

Thank you very much for the ILRS support for the last campaign but I apologize
this situation. Thank you very much.

Best regards,

Morio
