| Content: | ******************************************************************************** SLR Electronic Mail 2010-08-22 11:43:00 UTC Message No. 1902 ******************************************************************************** Author: Andrew Nicholas/NRL Subject: ANDE2 End of Mission While the re-entry of the ANDE-2 Castor, last radar contact was 8/18 at = 13:54 by the Cobra Dane site, spacecraft marks the end of the = collection of observations on the spacecraft, the ANDE mission data = analysis continues to utilize the SLR measurements collected over the = past 13 months. We have established an excellent quiet time baseline = during the solar minimum and have uncovered some very interesting = aspects of the climatology models during this period. We will continue = to use these measuments with instrumentation on the International Space = Station (RAIDS) and recent instruments (SSULI/SSUSI) on the latest US = weather satellites. We recognize that the ANDE spacecraft were very = difficult targets and truely appreciate the efforts that the station = crews have provided.
