Subject: updated IERS Conventions Chapters 5, 10, 11

Information on the updates to the IERS Conventions

The IERS Conventions Center informs of the following updates:

Three chapters of the IERS Conventions have been updated on 27 August =
2010:

Chapter 5 `Transformation between the International Terrestrial =
Reference
System and Geocentric Celestial Reference System` see
http://tai.bipm.org/iers/convupdt/convupdt_c5.html.
Corrections entered on 23 July 2010 are cancelled. The text of the =
chapter
is changed in equation (16) and Table 5.2a to make it consistent with =
the
electronic versions of Table 5.2a and Table 5.2b and to the SOFA routine
XY06.

Chapter 10 `General relativistic models for space-time coordinates and
equations of motion` see
http://tai.bipm.org/iers/convupdt/convupdt_c10.html.
* The exact form of the TCG-TT relation is provided in equation (1).
* The wording `YYY-compatible` where YYY is a time coordinate =
follows
IAU RIFA recommendations.
* An updated software XHF2002_IERS is provided for the TCB-TCG
transformation and the information on other existing software is
reformulated.
* Some modifications in the text at the end of the section 10.2.=20

Chapter 11 `General relativistic models for propagation` see
http://tai.bipm.org/iers/convupdt/convupdt_c11.html.
The wording `YYY-compatible` where YYY is a time coordinate follows IAU =
RIFA
recommendations.=20
A few words changed e.g. in 11.2 to make the text compatible with all
`ranging techniques` or when needed by changes in other sections.
Modifications do not concern the technical content and are NOT outlined =
in
the margin of the chapter.
