Content: | ******************************************************************************** SLR Electronic Mail 2011-03-14 09:50:00 UTC Message No. 1972 ******************************************************************************** Author: Toshimichi Otsubo, Hitotsubashi University Subject: Series of scheduled power outage at Hitotsubashi University Dear ILRS Colleagues, Due to the huge earthquake that hit northeast Japan last Friday, the Kanto area surrounding Tokyo are facing a series of scheduled power cuts from today. The first cut in this city is very soon, 1220-1600 JST (0320-0700 UT) today. No announcements have been made for tomorrow. Our daily quality control reports and our web/ftp/email services at Hitotsubashi University have to be shut down, at least for several hours per day. We will try to keep the daily analysis going on, but the availability will be unstable. We do not know how long and how frequent the power outage continues at this moment. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Best Regards, Toshi ----- Toshimichi Otsubo Hitotsubashi University phone+facsimile +81-42-580-8939 web http://geo.science.hit-u.ac.jp/entrance-en?set_language=en p.s. I am ok, and my family is ok too. Although the shaking was the lifetime-worst for myself, the situation in and around Tokyo is not disastrous at all with some exceptions. The primary concern is the northern 3 prefectures, Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima. From: Toshimichi Otsubo ******************************************************************************** |
