Dear Colleagues,
the next General Assembly of the European Geosciences Union (EGU) will
be taking place in Vienna, Austria, from April 22-27, 2012.

We would like to draw your attention to Session 5.1
”OBSERVING AND UNDERSTANDING EARTH ROTATION VARIABILITY AND ITS
GEOPHYSICAL EXCITATION”
and call for contributions.

In particular we seek contributions to this session that are related to
the following topics:

- new instruments and methods for the determination of EOP series and
their analyses
- combinations of different observing techniques
- dynamical link between Earth rotation, geophysical fluids, and other
geodetic quantities, such as the Earth gravity field or surface deformation
- development of inverse methods for the determination of Earth system
quantities from observations of Earth rotation
- relationship between EOP variability and current or potential
variability in fluids due to climate variation or global change
- forecasts of EOP and the related geophysical excitations
- characteristics and variability of the rotation parameters of other
planets or planetary bodies

More information on this session as well as on details concerning
abstract submission and possibilities for financial support of young
scientists can be found on the following web site:

We are looking forward to welcoming you in Vienna!

With best regards,

Florian Seitz - Convener
Aleksander Brzezinski and David Salstein - Co-Conveners
