URGENT MAIL - Envisat Major Anomaly

Dear all,

Since Sunday 8 April 2012, at the Kiruna pass at 12:28UTC, Envisat is not
transmitting any telemetry anymore. Only an un-modulated S-Band RF carrier
was received on-ground. No X-Band and Ka-Band (via Artemis) data were
received as from the same time.

An extended network of ground stations was immediately activated to send
commands to the satellite, but all attempts are unsuccessful so far. The
S-band carrier which was initially still available disappeared after few
hours.

Can you please confirm if the Envisat satellite is visible from the different
laser stations?

Thanks for your prompt support.

Kind regards, Pierre Féménias
