Content: | ******************************************************************************** SLR Electronic Mail 2012-05-09 07:10:29 UTC Message No. 2081 ******************************************************************************** Author: Erricos Pavlis Dear all, On May 1, 2012 the ILRS AWG released a new official ”position and EOP” product that replaces the one we delivered up to that date on a weekly basis. The new product is now delivered DAILY and it is based on a sliding 7-day arc that covers the period from nine (9) days to two (2) prior to the release date of the product. Each day the start and stop dates of the 7-day arc are advanced by one day. The new product provides results with a minimum latency of two days and it was designed to address the need for as fresh as possible EOP observations to be used by IERS´ Prediction Service at USNO. To maintain continuity of service we have decided to continue to provide access to the new product from the same ftp path that users obtained the previous official product from the ILRS Data Centers. Thus: for CDDIS access from: ftp://cddis.gsfc.nasa.gov/pub/slr/products/pos+eop and for EDC access from: ftp://edc.dgfi.badw.de/pub/slr/products/pos+eop At both DCs you will find two types of directories at this level: the annual ones that contain all the directories for that year, and for the current year, daily directories after May 1, 2012, that contain the same type of files as for the weekly directories prior to May 1. Users are cautioned that the DAILY releases are NOT independent over the period where there is overlap in the days forming the 7-day arc! Those interested in combining these products with those from other space geodetic techniques should select the combinations that are 7 days apart, preferably those which cover the ”standard” week (Sunday to Saturday), and correspond to the products released from other techniques. We hope that the new product will serve better a wider user community and look forward to your comments and suggestions. ecp +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Dr. Erricos C.
