*To all my colleagues and friends of the space geodetic community *

I would like to announce that I have retired from Oca/Grasse
Observatory the 1st of July 2012. Many of you may already know since I
have informed many colleagues at last Workshop in Koetzling.

With the agreement of Oca and GRGS, I will keep associating with ILRS
and serve until the end of my position at the Governing Board until the
next election in 2013. I will attend the next Frascati Workshop meeting
in November.

The many people from the Space Geodetic community, Eurolas and ILRS
today, have been with GRGS my main scientific community. I would like to
take this opportunity to thank you for the rare privilege of having been
part of these activities with resourcefulness and creativity on
permanent renewed technology and science for Space Geodesy projects.

I really appreciated my thirty-three years working with my
international colleagues. These experiences and collaborations have been
the high point of my professional life.

I will definitely miss this community even though I will keep in
contact through GB for some months. I hope to be able to keep in touch
with you on a personal basis when I travel. You are always welcome to
visit our Grasse home.

Thanks to the support of my wife and family, who had to endure me being
away from home for observing nights and being abroad. Thanks to my close
colleagues, who I have worked daily with everywhere on Ftlrs projects. I
could not have achieved all this without them.

I wish to all community, engineers, analysts, observers: fantastic
technological issues, clear sky and numerous returns, models with nice
physics and accurate data to enhance them...

Looking forward to seeing some of you at Frascati Meeting next month.

Sincerely, Francis
