Dear All,

following the suggestion of the ILRS Central Bureau, I´d like to post the yearly announcement for an opportunity for US students to work at the SCF_Lab on ”Satellite / Lunar Laser Ranging (SLR/LLR)”. Feel free to post it and forward it to whoever might be interested in it. Deadline is May 25. We´ve had already 3 students from Colorado School of Mines (1) and UC Berkeley (2).

The web site for the 2013 summer student internship (DoE-INFN program) at INFN-LNF is now open. The relevant web pages are:

1) http://www.lnf.infn.it/summer_student/: info specific to our National Lab (INFN-LNF), including our SLR/LLR activities (ETRUSCO-2@SCF_Lab).
2) http://web.infn.it/DOE-INFN-SSEP/: info on how to apply.

If you have interested candidates please encourage to them to apply (at link 2) for the activity ”ETRUSCO-2” (at link 1): if selected they will work at the SCF_Lab on laser ranging applications to Galileo/GPS and/or LLR, carried out also in collaboration with US institutions.

A brochure describing the SCF_Lab can be downloaded at http://www.lnf.infn.it/gr5/brochure.pdf.

The SCF_Lab hosted the last ”International Technical Laser Ranging Workshop - 2012” (ITLW-12): http://www.lnf.infn.it/conference/laser2012/.

Candidates can also contact me if they wish more info/doc.

Regards,
