| Content: | Author: Giuseppe Bianco, MLRO, Matera, Italy Dear all We have started preparations to have the MLRO telescope 1.5 m primary mirror recoated, possibly next fall. The baseline coating will be protected aluminum. As far as I know, there´s only one company in Italy which is able to apply such a coating to mirrors this big: astronomical observatories usually can only do unprotected aluminum coatings. Are you aware of other institutions/companies in Europe which would be able to do the job? Thanks and best Pippo Bianco, Matera, Italy |
