Content: | Dear Members of the ILRS:: The IAG, which is the parent organization of the ILRS, has politely informed us that we are not allowed to use the term ”Working Group” for our entities that have a lifetime longer than 4 years. Somehow this had eluded them for the past 16 years. Other Services also have the same issue. Our ”Working Groups” (Analysis, Networks and Engineering, Data Formats and Procedures, Missions, and Transponders) will now become ”Standing Committees”. Our ”Quality Control Standing Committee” will now become the ILRS ”Quality Control Board”. We looked at the other options for entities with extended lifetimes and discussed it with the IAG, but this is the best we could find. Over time some of the high level documentation and web material will be changed to reflect the new terminology, as must all new material being produced within the ILRS. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, but once again, we really have no choice.
