Content: | Author: Toshimichi Otsubo, Hitotsubashi University Dear ILRS Colleagues, Season´s Greetings from Tokyo. I hope you enjoyed/will enjoy the holidays, and I wish all of you a wonderful 2019! As announced in November I was elected as the Chair of the ILRS Governing Board, and my term has just begun. Since the ILRS was formed in 1998, we have had very successful history with the past four chairpersons. I feel very honoured to become the 5th, and I will do my best to make the worldwide laser ranging activities productive and exciting. I look forward to working with the Governing Board (not completely formed yet; two at-large members to be selected soon), the Central Bureau, each of the ILRS components, laser ranging mission providers, and laser ranging stations ... all of you! In addition, I would like the ILRS to nicely collaborate with other geodesy/space organisations, and also to welcome new people and institutes to join/work with us. Lastly, let us wish the former chairperson, Dr Pippo Bianco, a quick recovery. Best Regards, Toshi --- Toshimichi Otsubo Hitotsubashi University Web http://geo.science.hit-u.ac.jp/ Tel & Fax +81-42-580-8968 |
