Subject: | [SLR-Mail] No.2608: Proposals for hosting ILRS Technical/Specialty Workshop in 2021 | |
Author: | unknown | |
Content: | Dear Colleagues In the interim years between our regular International Workshops on Laser Ranging (IWLR), the ILRS offers an opportunity to hold Technical or Specialized Workshops to focus on a few timely topics that impact the quality of our data products and our operations. These are not meant to mimic the IWLR, but rather to provide time to articulate the issues carefully, and allow for more thorough discussion, and hopefully additional time to formulate a meaningful path forward. These workshops might have fewer formal talks, more dialog, and even small breakout sessions. Topics that have been stressed in the past have been automation, range bias issues, timing, on-site data processing, ground survey, etc. Some of these may warrant further attention in these workshops. If there is interest, the ILRS is now seeking institutions that would be willing to host the next ILRS technical/specialized workshop in 2021. The final decision on the workshop and the selection of the location would be made by the Governing Board. More information on these workshops, including guidelines for planning and sponsoring the event, can be found on the ILRS website at: https://ilrs.cddis.eosdis.nasa.gov/about/reports/workshop/index.html https://ilrs.cddis.eosdis.nasa.gov/about/reports/workshop/ILRS_Workshop_Guidelines.html Please send an email to Michael Pearlman Regards, Carey. ----- Ms. Carey Noll Manager, Crustal Dynamics Data Information System (CDDIS) Secretary, ILRS Central Bureau Secretary, GGOS Bureau for Networks and Observations NASA GSFC Code 61A Greenbelt, MD 20771 USA E-mail: Carey.Noll@nasa.gov Voice: (301) 614-6542 Fax: (301) 614-6015 WWW: https://cddis.nasa.gov |
